What is Pharmacy?
Pharmacists are the experts in drug discovery, development, preparation and usage of medicines. They are both professional scientists and qualified health care practitioners. Pharmacists work in hospitals, in the community and in the pharmaceutical industry. They promote the safe and effective use of medicines and ensure quality patient care. Often, pharmacists are the first point of information on medicines for the public and other health care professionals, and must be effective communicators.

Pharmacists receive training in diverse areas of science and in the skills required to be effective and professional in their job. The B.Pharm degree provides the knowledge and skills education essential for future practice and the College of Pharmacy at Keele provides the ideal setting for this. Located within the Faculty of Health, the College complements the existing College of Medicine and students will be taught in a dynamic and flourishing multidisciplinary, interprofessional environment.

• The pharmacist will find many additional and excellent opportunities ranging from marketing, formulations, manufacturing and quality control in the field of pharmaceutical industry.
• The pharmaceutical industry in India has grownup by leaps in the production of formulations and bulk drugs. A person can rise from the position of a supervisor to that of Production Manager, R & D Manager etc. In analytical wing a person with a basic degree in pharmacy can become a Quality Control Manager or Quality Assurance Manager.
• The practice of pharmacy is a profession like other professions such as medical, legal etc., and as such strictly controlled by the Pharmacy Act.
• Administration of various drug- plans and health care programmes of the Government at State and Central level require well-qualified pharmacists.
• A Pharmacist with the proper qualification and experience can look forward to the position of Chief Pharmacist or Clinical Pharmacist in a Pharmacy Department of a Hospital.
• The Pharmacist may serve as a Staff pharmacist in a chain drug store or in a managerial position. Most hospitals expanded their services in recent years and have a pharmacy department with employs a substantial number of staff Pharmacists.
• Hospital Pharmacy departments under the control of pharmacists offer many services such as patient counseling, drug information services, drug selection & preparations etc.,
• Pharmacist will find additional opportunities after having knowledge in recently introduced subjects like Community Pharmacy, Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy etc.,

Preamble
Collective working gives synergy. Success of the venture lies in co-operation of the complimentary organizations. Pharmaceutical world is globally changing with new emerging areas gaining ground. Pharmacoeconomics, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics are good examples of the changing scenario. Upgradation of B.S. in Pharmacy into Pharm. D. in the US is yet another example. These are all need-based and have taken the entire pharmaceutical world by storm. India does not want to be caught napping; our vision for a better tomorrow is to move with times and make Mohammadiya Institute of Pharmacy one of the best educational institution in the country.
